Every year, millions of older adults suffer falls that lead to serious injuries-or worse. But falling isn't an inevitable part of aging! With the proper knowledge and simple strategies, you can regain confidence, improve your stability, and move through life with ease. In Balance for Seniors, you'll discover practical, easy-to-follow exercises and techniques designed specifically for aging bodies. No complicated equipment. No unrealistic expectations. Just proven methods to help you build strength, stability, and the confidence to enjoy life on your terms. ~ What if the life you long for isn't found in more-but in enough?
When Tom retires, he expects freedom-but instead feels emptiness.
Then his neighbors invite him into the rhythm of their gardens. Through seeds and storms, pruning and harvest, Tom discovers that joy and purpose don't depend on having more. In this modern parable, you'll uncover:
• How gratitude transforms ordinary days into abundance
• Why pruning the past makes room for new growth
• What storms and winters can teach about resilience
• How sharing multiplies joy in community
Complete with reflection prompts and journaling space, The Garden of Enough is both a story and a guide-perfect as a retirement gift, for small groups, or for anyone seeking peace and gratitude in life's second halt.
December 6th Book Signing & Reading, 12-3pm: Join us as we welcome local author Maren Halvorsen and her thrilling historical novel, The Bailiff's Wife! When Sarah Kidd arrives in Chalfont St James, the townspeople make it clear that they would rather let a crime go unpunished than listen to an outsider. But Sarah is sure that it is her husband whose body was discovered near the inn and buried in a pauper’s grave, the fortune he earned as a bailiff missing. And she has an opinion about who is to blame. Quaker Frances Bright and the new parish priest, Arthur Brunskill, both also outsiders of a sort, take up her cause, each in their own way. Yet it takes the actions of an adolescent girl, Frances’ daughter, Jane, to ensure that justice, of a kind, is done. A 17th-century English broadsheet about a murder in a village north of London sparked this tale of a woman's search for justice. Against the background of Restoration English, we find ourselves in a world not unlike our own, full of passions and prejudices, but built without apology on rank and deference.
